Why Choose an Asphalt Driveway?

A Smooth, Clean Look at an Affordable Price

Asphalt driveways offer a clean, uniform appearance that complements any home. They provide a smooth driving surface and a finished look without the higher cost of concrete or brick pavers.

Fast Installation and Minimal Disruption

Asphalt can be installed and ready for use much faster than other materials. This makes it a great choice for homeowners who want a quick, efficient upgrade with minimal downtime.

Flexible and Weather‑Resistant

Asphalt naturally expands and contracts with seasonal temperature changes, helping it withstand Midwest freeze‑thaw cycles better than rigid materials. With proper maintenance, it performs reliably year after year.

Easy to Repair and Maintain

Unlike concrete, asphalt repairs blend in more seamlessly. Crack filling, patching, and resurfacing can extend the life of your driveway without requiring a full replacement.

Cost‑Effective for Long Driveways

For larger or longer driveways, asphalt is often the most economical option. It delivers a clean, functional surface at a fraction of the cost of other materials.

Our Asphalt Driveway Installation Services

Full Driveway Replacements

We remove your existing driveway, regrade the base, add new gravel as needed, and install a clean, smooth asphalt surface. This is the best option for driveways with extensive cracking, sinking, or structural failure.

New Asphalt Driveway Installations

For new construction or homes without an existing driveway, we install a properly compacted stone base and a fresh asphalt surface engineered for long‑term performance.

Asphalt Resurfacing (Overlay)

If your driveway is worn but structurally sound, resurfacing provides a cost‑effective upgrade. We repair problem areas, apply a new asphalt layer, and restore a smooth, uniform finish.

Driveway Extensions & Widenin

Need more parking space or easier access? We can widen your driveway or add additional asphalt areas while ensuring proper grading and drainage.

Base Repairs & Drainage Improvements

Many asphalt issues start with the base. We correct soft spots, drainage problems, and settling to ensure your new asphalt surface performs reliably.

Asphalt Driveway Installation Process

Engineered for a Smooth Finish, Solid Base Support, and Reliable Everyday Performance

An asphalt driveway depends on proper base preparation, compaction, and clean installation to perform well over time. Because asphalt is flexible and responds to seasonal temperature changes, a stable, well‑built base is essential for preventing premature wear. Our installation process is designed to deliver a smooth, reliable surface that handles daily vehicle traffic and Chicago’s freeze‑thaw cycles.

Most asphalt driveway projects are completed over a three‑day period, depending on weather and permit requirements. Here’s how the process typically moves from start to finish:

Step 1: Prep Day — Driveway Evaluation, Removal & Base Work
On the first day, we inspect the driveway area, remove the old asphalt or concrete if needed, regrade the base, add new gravel, and compact everything to ensure a stable foundation.

Step 2: Inspection Day — Village, City, or County Base Inspection
If your permit requires it, the local village, city, or county inspector will stop by to check and approve the base before paving. This inspection is performed by the municipality—not by us—and confirms the driveway is ready for asphalt installation.

Step 3: Paving Day — Installing the New Asphalt Surface
Once the base is approved, we install the new asphalt surface, level it, and machine‑compact it for a smooth, uniform finish. Edges are hand‑finished for clean lines and added strength.

Step 4: Final Roll & Clean Finish
We complete the installation with a final compaction pass and clean up the work area, leaving your property neat and ready for curing.

Step 5: Sealcoating (Performed the Following Season)
Sealcoating is not applied during installation. Asphalt needs time to fully cure, so the first sealcoat should be applied the following season, then every 3 to 4 years after that, based on asphalt industry recommendations. This helps protect the surface from UV rays, weathering, and everyday wear.

Repair & Maintenance

Protect Your Investment and Extend the Life of Your Driveway

Asphalt driveways naturally age over time due to weather, vehicle traffic, and seasonal freeze‑thaw cycles. Our repair and maintenance services help slow down deterioration, restore surface integrity, and keep your driveway looking clean and performing reliably for years.

Our asphalt repair and maintenance services include:

  • Crack filling to prevent water from penetrating the base
  • Patching and cut‑out repairs for sunken, broken, or deteriorated areas
  • Asphalt resurfacing (overlay) when the base is still structurally sound
  • Sealcoating to protect against UV rays, weathering, and surface wear

Whether your driveway needs minor repairs or a more extensive restoration, we help bring it back to a smooth, safe, and long‑lasting condition.
